- HORSES

Naoko

I have learned a lot of knowledge about “animal psychology” through taking several workshops of the therapy for animals (ex. Animal BodyTalk, T Touch thrapy, Animal massage therapy etc.) in North America.

The other hand, I have learned more about animal psychology through my horseback riding. I have worked with many horses over the past years and found them to have as similar psychology as humans. One horse that taught me a lot was Almando, a 7- year-old male.

He was a strong and proud horse, however he was known for his stubbornness, nervousness, and distrust of instructors and members of the Horse Club. He did not like to be touched by anybody who tried to brush him or saddle him, and would kick and struggle. People all agreed he was too difficult to handle.

Often, I had a chance to ride him, and later realized that he had never kicked me.
I thought the chemistry between us was very good. I decided to work with horse regularly. After a couple of weeks, instructors and members were amazed, because he dramatically changed. He became very calm and people felt that he was very easy to control.

However, they did not know how this change in his personality occurred.
They often asked me what I had done for him and they watched us with curiosity, standing and looking at us whenever I was preparing, brushing or saddling him before riding him. The key to the problem is very simple and involved two aspects. The first, I was able to understand his character.
The second, I was able to use my training in Alternative therapy (Three In One Concepts) to calm his stress.

Almando is very smart and proud of himself. He wants people to appreciate his ability and authority and hates to be given orders by anyone else.
People tried to use force to rule him. This had given the animal a lot of internal stress, and brought on behavior that was aggressive and stubborn.

I was able to release his stress with Alternative therapy (Three In One Concepts, T Touch massage therapy and the Meridian point of Chinese Medicine). As his stress was reduced, he became calm for everyone. This Alternative method of treatment that I have described for human and horses can be also applied for other animals. I have had success in using this approach with cats and dogs.
